Lead Software Engineer - Frontend (React.js, Open to remote)

We are looking for a lead engineer with a strong background in building extensible and scalable modern web applications, to champion our frontend engineering efforts. As a Lead Engineer, you will be the expert in building solutions, raising engineering standards, and promoting a strong engineering culture. 

What you will be doing:

• Work across teams with other frontend engineers, backend engineers, designers, and product managers. 
• Deconstruct complex problems and work towards a clean lightweight solution, by yourself or with the team. 
• Collaborate with senior engineers to architect and build product features and experiences
• Serve as a point-person to your team and guide them through feature planning, scoping, hiring, execution and quality assurance. 
• Collaborate with design, and product teams to understand product requirements, provide technical expertise/insights and translate requirements into amazing user experiences. 
• Participate proactively in code reviews to maintain a high-quality testable code culture

What you will need:

• A Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field with at least 8 years of front-end development experience and 2 years in a leadership position.
• Developed and shipped complex web applications at scale
• Experience with ES6, React, Redux, Webpack, Typescript, Storybook (or other E2E testing frameworks such as Jest, Puppeteer, Webdriverio)
• Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals. With this, you will be able to evaluate and make informed decisions for each scenario.
• Experience in developing highly interactive, building always-on systems, and working across a variety of technologies and service layers.
• Experience with Unit, Integration, End-to-end (E2E) testing frameworks, Docker and CI/CD, AWS
• Track record of leading engineers (min team size of 10 engineers) with a wide range of experience, while remaining hands-on and helping the team to meet project deadlines, and delivering world-class web applications.
• Leadership qualities: You lead the diverse team by mentorship, technical leadership, direct management and raising the bar for those around you.
