Lead Back-End Developer

Job Purpose:

To lead the tech team to build and maintain the back-end of our web applications, which includes scaling up our RESTful API, optimizing the response time of the API and the proprietary algorithm, and creating a new product that will integrate with the existing platform.

Job Responsibilities:

• Build/lead a team or teams

• Plan/Design/Revamp architecture to be scalable, faster, maintainable

• Liaise with developers, designers, and system administrators to identify new features

• Participate in the entire application life cycle

• Write clean code to develop functional web applications

• Write tests to optimize the stability of our applications

• Gather and address technical and design requirements

• Provide training and support to internal teams

• Build reusable code and libraries for future use

• Follow emerging technologies

• 5+ years experience, including min 4 years strong experience with Ruby on Rails
• 3+ years of team management experience especially experience in cross-country teams.
• strong/hand-on experience on heavy loading websites.
• good at communication especially fluent in English.
• Write high standard, beautiful, maintainable, and reusable code
• Comfortable building RESTful APIs to serve front-end applications and a public API 
• Experience with PostgreSQL or other SQL databases, and SQL queries
• Familiar with Git and Git flow; familiar with modern management tools
