Kono Digital Inc. (TW) is looking for a lead UX/UI designer as we embark on the next phase of our product development. You’ll be joining our tight-knit team as a founding design member. You’ll work closely with Product, Engineering, Business Development, and Marketing to explore and craft our next product line in the audio content space. This is a high growth role and we are looking for someone with the right fit in terms of skillset as well as company mission and culture.

About Kono

Founded in 2011, Kono was started by Stanford alumni and is headquartered in Silicon Valley. We’ve been building subscription based digital reading products and services for consumers and publishers. Our flagship products Kono Magazine and Kono Libraries are highly rated apps in TW, HK, US and JP. We are entering the next phase of product development, exploring opportunities within the audio content market, continuing to serve publishers and creators and their content consumers.

Your Will

- Work with PM and BD to identify customer (publishers, creators, consumers) pain points

- Brainstorm, propose, and define UIUX based on product spec.

- Be responsible for all aspects of product UX/UI design under various constraints (scope, time, and human resource). This includes the ideation and design for new product lines as well as the on-going design support for existing product lines.

- Hold design reviews with PM, BD, and Engineering. Articulate your principles that are rooted in user. Be the user voice at the table.

- Support various 2D graphics design effort for the company. Managing out-sourced design projects when necessary.

- Educate and inspire the team on design philosophies and practices whenever appropriate.

 

Requirement

You Have

- Minimum 2years of UX/UI design experience for mobile app and web applications. Played a significant design role in published iOS/Android apps and web applications. Proficiency in Figma, Adobe Xd, Sketch. Ai, Ps etc. Well versed in iOS/Android design guidelines, as well as RWD web design knowledge. Skillful in UX writing.

- Obsession over user experience. You care deeply about our users and can turn user stories and user journeys into frictionless design by obsessing over every detail, from pixels to UX copies. Our product lines cover B2B, B2B2C, and B2C markets, with users ranging from publishers to independent content creators to content consumers. You obsess equally over 2B products as you would over 2C products (if not more so).

- A genuine passion for product design. You take great pride in your work and know how to defend it skillfully.

- Experience in writing design spec and establishing design guidelines.

- The hands on can-do attitude. You breathe design thinking methodologies and you are a problem solver. You are comfortable with ambiguity and knows how to ask for help and how to use frameworks to solve thorny issues. No challenge is above you and no task is beneath you.

- Excellent cross team communication skills. You thrive in teamwork. You possess the ability for independent thinking as well as the grace for constructive feedback, both taking and giving.
