We are looking for a Director of Product to lead and elevate our product management team by fostering collaboration, driving innovation, and implementing structured workflows to enhance efficiency and team alignment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of product management across hardware and software, and the ability to bridge strategic vision with execution. This pivotal role bridges visionary ideas from the CEO (Acting CPO) with the executional capabilities of our product management team, ensuring alignment and efficiency across hardware and software product lines. You will guide and manage a talented team of Product Managers, acting as the driving force behind modern workflows and innovative product development.
This role requires someone who is collaborative, highly strategic, and experienced in managing complex product ecosystems, including hardware and software integration. The ideal candidate will not only support the CEO’s creative and disruptive vision but also translate it into actionable strategies and guide the team to deliver groundbreaking products.
【Typical Accountabilities】
● Leadership & Team Management:
-Act as the "No. 2" in the product team, supporting the CEO’s product vision while managing day-to-day product team operations.
-Lead and mentor a team of energetic and talented Product Managers (hardware and software), fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability.
-Lead and work closely with a group of dynamic and talented designers including UX, UI, ID, PD, to ensure and meet the high standard of innovative product designs.
-Serve as the voice of the CEO to the team and other departments, ensuring alignment and clarity.
● Strategic Product Management:
-Develop and execute a cohesive product strategy that integrates hardware, software, and AI capabilities.
-Collaborate with the CEO on product vision, incorporating unique and disruptive ideas into structured workflows.
-Oversee the development of MRD (Market Requirements Document), PRD (Product Requirements Document), and PPD (Product Positioning Document) by ensuring they align with market trends, customer needs, and business goals. MRD focuses on market analysis and opportunities, PRD details the functional and technical specifications, and PPD defines the product’s unique positioning and go-to-market strategy.
-Embrace and promote AI tools like ChatGPT to optimize product management processes and team efficiency.
● Cross-Functional Collaboration:
-Work closely with Marketing, Engineering, Sales, GM and COO to align product roadmaps with company objectives.
-Ensure smooth communication and collaboration across departments to streamline product development and go-to-market strategies.
-Act as the primary liaison between the CEO and the product team, providing guidance and feedback to align execution with vision.
● Operational Excellence:
-Champion modern product management workflows and adapt them to Positive Grid’s unique needs.
-Ensure the efficient and effective execution of product roadmaps, balancing technical feasibility, user experience, and business impact.
-Delegate effectively to team members while maintaining a strong understanding of overall product management processes.
【Essential】
-15+ years of experience in product management, ideally with a mix of broader industry exposure and specific expertise in modern technology products (Consumer, IoT, Software) or related fields, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. Experience in the music domain is preferred but not mandatory., doesn't need to be in the music domain.
-Proven track record in managing both hardware and software products, ideally within music technology or related industries.
-Strong familiarity with modern product management processes and tools (e.g., Agile, JIRA, Trello).
-Experience working with AI-driven product features and workflows.
-Deep understanding of the guitar/music industry, including user needs and market dynamics.
-Excellent communication (both Chinese and English) and collaboration skills, with a proven ability to work across cross-functional teams.
-Strategic thinker with the ability to balance creativity and execution.
-Based in Taipei or willing to relocate.
