As a Sr. Software Engineer at Quid, you will be instrumental in developing and implementing robust solutions for downloading and managing substantial volumes of data. Your expertise will drive the development of a robust data acquisition platform and a variety of data downloaders, enabling the delivery of content as products that our AI capabilities can leverage to create value for our customers.

[Responsibilities]

• Be proactive in independently seeking out and exploring solutions.
• Take initiative in learning and acquiring new knowledge and skills to enhance team productivity.
• Demonstrate the ability to lead projects, manage schedules, and deliver value incrementally.
• Design complex systems using simple, efficient models.
• Excel at in developing a data downloader, understanding the eco system of the data, figuring out the valuable part
• Possess strong skills in designing a robust error-handling mechanism for downloaders to adapt quickly to unexpected API changes.
• Manage multiple data downloaders with a focus on high stability and reliability.
• Be able to design and maintain a system to deliver data to multiple teams with a solid internal API protocol.

You may be a good fit if you have:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees are a plus
• 5+ years of working experience in software development
• Solid expertise in Java
• Familiar with Python
• Familiar with AI-supported development environments, e.g. cursor, Github copilot
• Familiar with Docker and Kubernetes
• Familiar with CI pipeline, e.g. Github Actions
• Familiar with HTTP restful client API especially on error handling capability, distributed rate limit control and high throughput design experience
• Familiar with RDBMS, e.g. MySQL
• Exceptional problem-solving abilities and capacity to work autonomously or as part of a team
• Familiar with software development principles and design patterns
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Fluency written and verbal English skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiar with content provider APIs, e.g. meta graph API, Twitter/X API, etc.
• Familiar with No-SQL storage, e.g. Cassandra, RocksDB, etc.
• Familiar with messaging queue, e.g. Kafka
• Familiar with monitoring on top of Kubernetes, e.g. Prometheus, Grafana, Alert Manager, etc.
• Familiar with workflow engine on top of Kubernetes, e.g. Argo Workflow
• Familiar with data crawling platforms, e.g. Airbyte
• Familiar with system design principles, e.g. Domain Driven Design, Data Mesh, A Philosophy of Software Design
• Experience in OAuth protocol and integration experience
• Experience in data scraper, e.g. selenium
• Experience in the design and implement of Data Lake/Lakehouse system, e.g. Delta Lake, Hudi
• Experience in the design and implement LLM related applications
