About this role

ShopBack’s product and engineering organization is structured around a number of Technology Families, each with their own distinct mission statement. Each Technology Family comprises a number of teams, with each team focusing on a group of products that either solve a common theme of problems and/or address a target consumer/user group.

You will join the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) Affiliate Technology Family that also operates as a full-fledged Business Unit within the Company. As Product Manager (Merchants), you are responsible for the portfolio of products spanning across the merchant/partner lifecycle. You and your team’s work directly impacts merchant acquisition and onboarding, campaign content syndication, customer and transaction analytics, and end-to-end billing management. 

Who we’re looking for

You are organised, structured, and have both the experience and interest in process design. You understand that operational scale and accuracy is best achieved through a combination of intuitive user-friendly tools, elegant decision-making frameworks, and workflow efficiencies.

You are meticulous and data-driven - you are unafraid to dive deep into details and also possess the ability to make sense of the big picture in simple and clear terms. You are business-minded and able to connect your work directly to increasing our merchant/partner billables and ultimately customer lifetime value.


  • Work with the CPG Affiliate Business Leader and your key product and engineering counterparts to craft the merchants product roadmap.
  • Execute on the roadmap by designing, building, and rolling out platforms/tools (e.g., merchants portal) that are used by our merchant partners and internal teams.
  • Drive continuous enhancements to merchant-facing platforms collaboratively with our partnership, merchant development, and business intelligence teams.
  • Drive sustainable improvements to our merchant acquisition and boarding processes.
  • Drive research and understanding of merchant partner needs and wants.
  • Drive timely and accurate financial reporting of the CPG Affiliate Business with Finance.
  • Work with functional counterparts to grow our supply of merchant partners and offers and minimize merchant partner churn.
  • Minimum 4 years product management experience with a strong performance record.
  • Professionally bilingual in Mandarin and English.
  • A self-starter, independent, motivated and result-oriented individual.
  • Strong analytical skills with proven proficiency in handling complex data sets, interpreting data, visualizing data, and synthesizing clear accurate insights.
  • Solid communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong people skills, with proven ability to influence/negotiate, and not rely on authority.
  • Strong problem-solving skills - able to exhaustively and comprehensively break down problems in a structured manner.
  • Coachable mindset and able to respond well to candid feedback
  • Bonus for software engineering or computer science background.
  • Bonus for financing/banking and operations background.
