• Edit, proofread, and/or fact-check articles for publication and social media copy for clarity and grammatical correctness
• Write and/or report on breaking news or attend press conferences if assigned
• Draft engaging social media copy on Facebook and Twitter for news articles
• Assist in coordinating and maintaining content schedule
• Maintain contacts with freelance writers and assist editor in managing submissions, correspondence, and electronic paperwork

• Writing and editing skills
• Experience with news research and fact-checking
• Working knowledge of basic publishing procedures, Google Doc, Google Sheets
• Interest in business, start-up topics
• Comfortable working in dynamic environment
• Bonus: Bilingual in Mandarin and English
• Bonus: Familiarity with AP style
