Senior System Engineer
Role Overview
ViewSonic is seeking a detail-oriented Senior System Engineer with excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to join our Global Information Technology team. Based in Taipei, Taiwan, the successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of information systems that support core organizational functions. You will apply proven communication and technical skills to identify and resolve issues, maximizing the benefit of IT system investments.
Core Responsibilities
Infrastructure Management: Design and manage global cloud infrastructure, specifically AWS and MS Azure.
System Administration: Administer servers, desktop computers, printers, switches, firewalls, software deployment, and security patches.
Internal Support: Assist local IT teams in designing and managing internal infrastructure environments.
Technical Design: Create system design models, specifications, and diagrams to guide programmers and development teams.
Security & Compliance: Design and manage security operations, perform system audits, and ensure alignment with ISO 27001 standards.
Collaboration: Partner with application and security staff to ensure reliable system operations for business objectives.
Continuity & Audits: Perform server/security audits and manage backup and recovery processes per disaster recovery strategies.
Documentation & Training: Maintain detailed documentation for system configurations and processes and provide training to end-users for new or modified systems.
Interoperability: Ensure the compatibility and interoperability of all in-house computing systems.
Position Requirements
Education: University degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering.
Experience: 8+ years of equivalent work experience, including overseeing software system design and implementation.
Project Leadership: Proven ability to handle multiple projects, meet deadlines, and apply strong project management skills.
Soft Skills: Strong organizational and analytical skills, a high level of customer service focus, and the ability to work under pressure.
Language: Good command of written and spoken English.
Technical Qualifications
Cloud Platforms: 5+ years of experience with AWS and Microsoft 365/Azure.
Networking & Virtualization: 5+ years of experience with VMware, LAN, and WAN.
Security Expertise: Extensive knowledge of security-related technologies and operations, with familiarity in ISO 27001.
Global Collaboration: 3+ years of experience working effectively within a global team environment.
