【Responsibilities】
1. Design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs to ensure scalability and performance.
2. Work with existing legacy systems, refactor and migrate legacy code to modern, maintainable structures.
3. Identify, evaluate, and implement improvements to enhance system reliability, scalability, and efficiency.
4. Collaborate with teammates across engineering and product to deliver impactful features under high-pressure and fast-paced environments.
5. Mentor and support other engineers to improve technical skills and code quality.
6. Ensure system stability with proper testing, CI/CD practices, and monitoring.
• 5+ years of backend engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge and professional experience with PHP and Laravel (must-have).
• Experienced with database schema design and maintenance using MySQL or PostgreSQL.
• Hands-on experience working with and migrating legacy systems.
• Ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment and take ownership of complex challenges.
• Evidence of exposure to architectural patterns of large-scale web applications (e.g., well-designed APIs, high-volume data pipelines, efficient algorithms).
• Strong self-learner with a passion for improving systems and codebases.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Able to read and write in English.
• Experience building unit tests and ensuring high code quality in production systems.

• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Familiar with CI/CD pipelines, caching systems (e.g., Redis, Memcached), Kubernetes, or Elasticsearch.
• Knowledge or hands-on experience with Python (FastAPI) or Golang.
• Prior contribution to or maintenance of open-source projects.
• Fluency in English speaking.
• Strong interest in mentoring and helping other engineers grow.
