Senior AI Wizard

Lumina is seeking the unique combination of hacker and AI researcher.

You're scrappy, move quickly, and explore solutions. You live by the Pareto Principle (or if you didn't, you will now). Spend 20% of the time, to achieve 80% of the solution. The CTO should learn something new from you in the first 30m conversation 🙂

Our founding team has extremely strong engineers from other disciplines, and already built an amazingly accurate and performant MVP over the last 6 months using mostly off-the-shelf models and tools.

Your responsibilities will include:

• creatively generating or gathering relevant datasets to overfit to our use-case
• pruning and quantizing our models to improve performance
• finding and repurposing new models that enable delightful features for customers

You will be reporting to the CTO, collaborating on technical execution and decision making.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain well documented modules used for key inference jobs
• Keep training data organized and re-useable
• Implement performance optimizations such as model pruning and quantizing
• Find and retrain other AI models that can expand our feature set

Qualifications

• 3+ years building low level C++ applications using AI
• Familiar with modern training tools and inference engines
• Comfortable with hacking together your own training data
• Comfortable with pruning, quantizing, and retraining models
• Expert with linux based systems
• Expert with modern devtools such as CI, git, etc
• Excellent speaking and written english.
