Senior iOS Developer (Remote, Full-time)

Glossika’s mission is to enable anyone to learn any language in the world effectively. We do this through the careful curation of content, and we’re building a platform (called Viva) to serve as the creator hub that generates all of that learning content. The ecosystem is scalable and it has a huge potential to grow.

We’re looking for 2 iOS developers. Currently, we have no in-house iOS developers, so we expect you to be confident working alone while we are building out the team. (We believe that only the right people make the product successful, so we aren’t in a rush to fill the vacancy by hiring just anybody.) 

You’ll be building our Glossika interface and helping us brainstorm how we can deliver more value to our users. 

Hiring process

There will be 3 parts to the hiring process — all online

• Part I: A brief interview to make sure you’re a potential fit for the team and answer any questions that you might have regarding our products and team
• Part II: Meet with our developers!
• Part III: Meet with other team members, and discuss your salary expectations and answer any remaining questions that you might have
  

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain iOS apps
• Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications
• Collaborate with a team to define, design, and deliver new features
• Help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization
• Troubleshoot and fix bugs
  

Collaboration

Our working hours are from 9 AM to 6 PM Taiwan Time; we prefer to have everybody start and end work at the same time to facilitate effective teamwork, but you have 30 minutes of flexibility to begin your workday. 

Requirements

• Proficient with Swift
• Familiar with Git
• Familiar with in-app purchases
• Familiar with RESTful APIs to connect iOS applications to back-end services
• 3+ years of experience working on iOS development
• Understanding of Apple’s design principles and interface guidelines
• Fluent in English and/or Chinese

Good to have:

• Experience with subscription-based business models
• Knowledge of other web technologies and UI/UX standards
• Experience developing features related to audio, voice recording, video, and offline access
• Experience with Firebase (Analytics, Remote config, Notification...) 
• Experience with Amplitude
• Experience with unit testing
