JOB TITLE: Web (map) Developer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prioritized responsibilities:
● Create web pages of maps/geographical illustrations for programme and engagement in particular
● Scripting and application of programming codes and digital development techniques.
● Compile replicable projects and templating/automation to be further employed by many global projects.
● Suggest GIS/Web solutions in the project planning process.
Secondary priorities:
● Taking care of the mapping part in GP projects as a whole where needed.
● Connect GMH and Global program project teams on a regional basis.
● Know not only GIS aspects but also regional specifications, can be part of project teams for a particular region, consult, share skills and help to grow local capacity.
● Connect GP projects and a GIS freelancer/volunteer and communicate with external experts if needed.
REQUIREMENTS
● Academic education degree in a technical field such as computer
science, computer engineering or related field required.
● Fluent English for communication in an international team
● Proven working experience in web programming with JS/HTML/CSS, and PHP coding capabilities.
● Adequate knowledge of relational database systems (SQL), Object Oriented Programming, and web application development
● Experience with web map libraries: Leaflet, OpenLayers, Mapbox / Maplibre
● Spatial data formats operations - shp, geojson, kml, geotiff etc
● Some GIS/RS expertise is an advantage
● Basic knowledge of graphic packages and viewers (Photoshop etc)

● GIS&RS training and education background is highly welcomed
