Visual Design Lead

As a Visual Design Lead, you will need to know what the business objectives are, how to build strong and creative concepts from those objectives, and how to bring that concept to life with a team. We are looking for someone with a strong track record of visual communications design, including storytelling, presentation, critiques, and emotional maturity; has an eye to give creative direction, understands the process and has the ability to scope out different ways to plan projects.

Roles & Responsibilities: 

• Build, lead and inspire a talented team of creatives, including oversight of concept development, project prioritization, resource allocation, and an inclusive team culture
• Create an environment that empowers your team to develop ideas and strategies that inspire our team members to achieve creative success on their projects and work with them to execute those ideas
• Develop strategic plans and priorities to scale the impact and expertise of the team 
• Be able to find external creative talent when needed on projects
• Work cross-functionally with marketing, product, product design, explore teams to understand and define what drives successful projects

Requirements: 

• Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or another design-related field
• 5+ years visual design experience with 2+ years of creative direction
• Experience leading 2+ designers
• Fluent in English
• Excellent communication and storytelling skills
• Knows how to research, form strong concepts quickly and execute to make it come to life
• Have strong critique skills
• Team player, enjoys collaboration, sharing, and the process of brainstorming and critiquing with fellow designers
• Highly proficient in a variety of software programs, such as Illustrator, Photoshop, Figma
• Web design and After Effects skills are a plus
• Loves digital photo/editing apps and greeting card/scrapbook/craft related products
