Data Scientist

About The Job:
At BlueX, data drives our decision-making. We are looking for a business intelligence-focused Data Scientist who is passionate about metrics and story-telling with data. This role is for those who are quantitative and analytically-minded, and love delivering end-to-end data projects to drive the business forward. From understanding needs from multiple stakeholders, to building ETL pipelines and warehouses, to generating the automated reporting tools, dashboards, and visualizations necessary to empower decisions, our data and analytics team acts as the key advisor to the company’s development.  

As a data professional at BlueX, we create actionable insights from metrics. Prioritizing data quality should be your passion, along with optimizing business processes, enabling automation, and determining performance benchmarks as needed.
 

Responsibilities:

• Ability to own a data analytics project and execute it from the ground up, setting the strategy, determining objectives and key results, and building the tools necessary to deliver those solutions. 
• Build automated reporting tools, dashboards, and visualizations to automate and optimize operational processes of all departments. 
• Partner with Engineering teams to build data infrastructure, operationalize/scale data solutions, and improve BlueX’s business intelligence and analytics tools.
• Partner closely with Finance leaders and their teams to deliver solutions that fit their evolving needs.

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional experience in a data-driven and analytics-focused role.
• Deep experience in building ETL pipelines, database architecture & design, with required programming languages (SQL, Python), and data visualization tools (Tableau).
• Ability to build automated reporting tools, KPI dashboards, metrics delivery, and articulate clear actionable business insights with data.
• Experience in people management, cross-functional teamwork, communication with stakeholders, and delivering end-to-end data analytics projects.

• Experience in Financial Industry and Fintech-related products.
• Familiarity with statistical methods and machine learning, and the ability to identify opportunities to apply these.
• Previous experience with AWS or other cloud computing technologies.
• Familiarity with modern data technology & development tools (Airflow, Docker, Snowflake, etc.)
• Ability to thrive in environments with multiple cross-functional stakeholders with competing agendas, by bringing people together to achieve a common goal.
• Self-starter who possesses flexibility to work in a fast-changing environment and ambiguous situations.
